From food to fashion, toys and household goods, this retro photo gallery takes a look back at some of those things which were so ubiquitous during the 70s but have vanished without a trace.
How many of these items and trends do you remember and what do you miss most about the 1970s?

13. Pocket calculators
Pocket calculators first hit the shops in the early 1970s and quickly revolutionised life for schoolchildren, becoming an essential in every pupil's school bag. The advent of mobile phones with calcultor apps has made them obsolete for most people, though with mobiles often banned in the classroom they still have a place in schools. | M. 14. Woodchip wallpaper
Pulp's Jarvis Cocker famously sang in Disco 2000 of his childhood crush Deborah's house which had 'woodchip on the wall'. It certainly wasn't the only house where that was the case during the 1970s, when Jarvis was growing up, as woodchip wallpaper was all the rage. It's less fashionable these days, with many home renovators taking great delight in stripping it away. | Martyn Goodacre/Getty Images Photo: Martyn Goodacre/Getty Images
