After coming back from a nine-month lay-off due to having her nose operated on it was a big test, but the White Rose Boxing Club star came through it well to progress to the finals.

Farrah had a destructive first round, winning unanimously on the scores with two 10-8 point rounds in her favour after forcing her opponent to take a standing count.

The second round was closer and Farrah had a point knocked off for unintentional fouling, which meant the score was level going into the third and final round on three out of five of the judges scorecards.

She dug deep, however, to secure a 3-2 split win and will now look forward to another big test in the final.

"After over a year of battling through injuries, we are hoping it's finally Farrah's time,” said her coach at White Rose Sherri Walker.

"She has received an invitation for a GB and England assessment already, having made the national finals, and will now box in the final against Amy Nolan, of Moss Side Fire, in Derby.”

The White Rose club, meanwhile, is staging another home show this Saturday, featuring 10 of their boxers in conjunction with Camp Detox, of Leeds.

It is taking place at Belle Isle WMC, starting 1pm.

White Rose also have two schoolboys boxing in the Yorkshire Schools finals on Sunday. – their reigning national champion Bobby James Francis and national finalist William Bretherton.

Both are boxing at 40kg, William in the class B (2012 year of birth) and Bobby James is boxing in class A (2013 year of birth).

The club has Edward Finney through to the National Schoolboy pre-quarter finals already in the 57kg class A due to having no opponent in the region stage.
