Booth and Wahid’s double century stand helps keep Townville on top
The biggest partnership for any wicket in the Bradford Cricket League this season helped top of the table Townville to another commaning win in the Premier Division.
Skipper Jonny Booth and Abdul Wahid were in brilliant form as Townville made 344-4 after going in first against Pudsey Congs.
Their magnificent opening partnership saw them put on 258 with Booth hitting 16 fours and a six in his unbeaten 133 and Abdul Wahid striking four sixes and 17 fours in his 130.
Conor Harvey carried on the destructive work with 42 from 23 balls and Congs had a real task on their hands in their reply.

They did manage to bat out their 50 overs, but were restricted to 225-9 as Sanoj Darshika and Matthew Race took two wickets each.
Despite the win the Premier Division title race tightened further as Townville and Woodlands finished the day level on 157 points at the top, with reigning champions New Farnley just four points behind in third place.
Methley made it back to back Premier wins when they beat Jer Lane by 69 runs.
Taylor Cornall hit his seventh half century in 10 innings as his 54 and Bailey Worcester’s 30 were the principal contributions in Methley’s 187.
Jer Lane made a shaky start to their reply and never really got going as they were dismissed for 118. Methley’s bowlers shared the spoils, with skipper Jared Warner taking 4-47 from 15 overs and Cornall 3-27.
The win kept Methley in mid-table and comfortably clear of the relegation positions.
Division Two leaders Great Preston pushed their title claims with a 97-run victory over Streethouse.
After electing to bat first they were able to post a 242-7 score as Muhammad Shah led the way with a superb 103 that included 11 fours.
He was supported by Oli Baron (49) and Moosa Azad (35) while Gabe Lawson (3-65) was the most successful Streethouse bowler.
Streethouse never seriously threatened despite Dishane Rodrigo’s 39 and Lee Tarbuck’s 31. South African all-rounder Willem Meintjes produced a decisive spell of 5-49, while James Conlon claimed 3-33 as the visitors were all out for 145.
Streethouse’s disappointing weekend saw them also knocked out of the Bentley Drains Jack Hampshire Cup when they lost by 137 runs to Keighley.
They found themselves chasing a big score as Keighley made 306-7 in their 40 overs with opener Muhammed Imran hitting 109 from just 59 deliveries.
Despite Australian Lawson’s spell of 3-23, Streethouse struggled to contain the scoring and when it was their turn to bat they lost wickets regularly before they were all out for 169 with Steven Roberts (27) top scoring.
