The victory saw the Pewits equal last season’s Vase performance – with their 1988 Vase final appearance remaining the club’s high-water mark – and the second round match is due to be played on Saturday, November 11 at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground.
Emley earned it with a battling display against Guisborough when they found themselves behind despite starting brightly with Nathan Curtis testing Town keeper Dean in the second minute.

However, four minutes from half-time it was Guisborough who scored when Tyrone O'Neil finished well past Dec Lambton.
Emley, and Ruben Jerome especially, started the second half well. Within a minute he fired a shot wide then his superb 25-yard strike crashed off the crossbar.
More chances came and went before a deserved equaliser which saw Jerome tee up Gooden to score.

There was still time for Gooden to hit the woodwork again with a header and Emley’s defence was tested, but held out in the closing stages after Guisborough threw everything at them.
Emley are back in action in the NCE Premier when they host Pickering Town on Saturday.
