“I will do my best for this club. I’m happy because I didn’t play a lot of games in Palermo, I’m very happy.

“My role is to help the team. If the coach chooses to play me I will do my best for the team.

“I hope to show what I can do on Saturday.”

Ngoyi is the second Palermo player to head to Leeds this week, following defender Sol Bamba, and he hopes it will help him to settle that there will be someone else to call in while he gets used to life in England.

The deal bringing Ngoyi to Elland Road is subject to Football League approval.
