Lee Peltier’s loan move from Leeds United to Nottingham Forest has fallen through after both clubs announced it was a done deal.

Peltier’s move was finalised yesterday afternoon with the defender visiting Forest’s training ground and meeting with owner Fawaz Al Hasawi.

But last night Forest announced that the deal had fallen through, much to the surprise of United, with the paperwork having been completed at the Leeds end.

It has not been confirmed whether the collapse of the deal had anything to do with Neil Warnock’s decision to turn down the Nottingham Forest manager’s job following the sacking of Billy Davies.

Warnock signed Peltier from Leicester City while he was Leeds manager and made him his captain.

Bolton Wanderers are now believed to be interested in signing Peltier until the end of the season.
