Rosler confirmed as new Leeds United head coach
Leeds United have confirmed that Uwe Rosler has been appointed as the club’s new head coach on a two-year deal.
The former German international has 10 years experience as a manager, including spells with Brentford and Wigan Athletic, and will replace Neil Redfearn.
His playing career spanned 16 years and was largely spent in the German leagues before 1994 brought a move to Manchester City, where he was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame after four years produced 64 goals in 176 appearances.
Rosler also played for Southampton and West Brom before his playing career was brought to an end when he was diagnosed with lung cancer, aged 34.
He battled his way to a full recovery and started his management career with Lillestrom in 2005, with former Leeds player Gunnar Halle as his assistant.

Rosler went on to manage fellow Norwegian Premier League outfit Viking and Molde before taking over at Brentford in 2011 and guiding them to 2011 their highest finish in six years during his first season at the club.
His second season saw the Bees narrowly miss out on promotion from League One after losing to Yeovil in the play-off final.
A move to Wigan followed, but it did not work out there as he was sacked after just 11 months in charge.
