In a statement on the club website, Frecklington said: “Over the last 18 months I’ve built up a fantastic relationship with the chairman, Phil, Penny and Ruth, the volunteers, our award winning media team and our phenomenal supporters.

"Although this pandemic has put a halt to football on the pitch it’s not stopped us working on our plans off it.

"Regular Zoom meetings and weekly, if not daily, conversations regarding how we want to go about our business has made the decision an easy one, and it’s a real privilege to be extending my commitment to the football club.

"The football club has a fantastic tradition, a loyal fan base and treats every player and member of staff like one of their own.

"The progress that’s been made on and off the pitch over the last 18 months has been staggering, especially considering the challenges that we’ve faced.

"I’m also delighted to announce that Kyle O’Reilly, Damon Parkinson and Gavin Saxby have also committed, alongside our outstanding Physio/Sports Therapist Jordan Parkin."
