PICTURE SPECIAL: Pontefract Collieries open NPL season with big win

Pontefract Collieries opened their season in the Pitching In Northern Premier League East with victory when they took on Grimsby Borough – and photographer Scott Merrylees was there to capture the action.

Colls ran out convincing 4-0 winners with Joe Lumsden hitting a hat-trick and a further goal coming from Gavin Allott.

Ponte are in action again tomorrow night (Tuesday) when they take on Hebburn Town, kick-off 7.45pm. It is now a home game after being switched when originally being scheduled to take place in the North East.
