Rallying is back on the agenda this summer.
Rallying is back on the agenda this summer.

This rally was organised for 2020, but as with many other things, the pandemic took precedence and it had to be postponed.

But for 2021 it returns, running under strict covid guidelines.

Taking place across the whole day using land belonging to the Ministry of Defence at Catterick, it will give competitors approximately 25-30 miles of tests, all of which will be on private land.

“We are still offering packages for anyone who wishes to sponsor some or all of the mileage. These start at as little as £100 and go up to £500 for a headline sponsor,” said De Lacy Motor Club Ltd’s Malcolm Higgins.

“There will be no spectators allowed on the day, so the only way you can get to see any action will be to volunteer to marshal. No experience is needed and if you want to get involved in motor sport at the grassroots level, then this is an ideal way to start.

“We need people to help with setting up the day before and on the day to ensure that competitors comply with the pre-determined route they have to take.”

Anyone interested in competing or helping out can contact clerk of the course Malcolm Higgins via email at [email protected]

It is proposed that with the ease of more restrictions this month that the De Lacy Motor Club clubhouse will be open again on Friday, May 21.
