New Inn A and Nightingale are overall champions after tight finish to season
A thrilling nip and tuck finish to the Wakefield Darts and Dominoes League saw outcomes of several of the divisions go right down to the wire on the last week of the season.
The overall Premier Division table saw just two points separate the top three teams with New Inn A coming out on top, just a point ahead of E&W Ardsley, with Graziers, who made the running for much of the season, a further point back in third.
New Inn A and Graziers finished level on points at the top of the darts league with the former taking top spot, winning 16 of their 18 games to their rivals’ 15.
It was a similar story in the dominoes standings with Station edging out Belle Vue after the pair finished level on 100 points.
In Division One Thorn Tree finished the season impressively to take the darts crown, seven points ahead of New Inn B and Nightingale.
The dominoes section was headed by Flatt Top, but they finished level on points with Travellers, Fox ‘N’ Grapes and Woodman.
There was a tie on points at the top of Division One’s overall table with Nightingale finishing top ahead of Travellers, who were left to rue an 8-2 final dominoes match loss to New Inn B.
