See these American Football images as Wakefield Raiders continue winning streak

Wakefield District Raiders’ American Football team, who play their home games at Sandal RUFC, were celebrating again on Sunday after making it four wins in a row in the BAFA National League’s NFC Two Midlands Division.

The winning streak continued with an 18-6 success at home to Doncaster Mustangs when strong defence proved the key.

The Raiders had beaten the Mustangs away in their previous league game when they had triumphed 20-7 in a game that had gone a similar way in South Yorkshire.

They are now boasting an impressive record of four wins and just one defeat this season, despite losing their opening game 26-22 at Birmingham Bulls.

The Wakefield team avenged that defeat and also convincingly beat Leigh Miners 43-8 before doing the double over Doncaster.

The acid test comes now against the unbeaten Rossendale Bucks with the away game taking place this Sunday.

They then face the Bucks at home on June 28 before finishing their regular season with another game at Sandal against Leigh Miners on July 5.

Formerly known as Knottingley Raiders, the Wakefield District team are the only American Football team serving Wakefield, West Yorkshire and its five towns.
