Competition: Win a pair of tickets for Wakefield Trinity’s home Super League clash with St Helens

To celebrate the start of Wakefield Trinity’s journey back in Super League, we’re giving a lucky reader the chance to win a pair of tickets for the club’s home encounter with St Helens.

After a terrific treble-winning campaign in the Championship, Daryl Powell’s men start life back in Super League with a tasty trip to Headingley to face Leeds Rhinos on Saturday, February 15, before welcoming last season’s Grand Final runners-up Hull KR to the DIY Kitchens Stadium on Thursday, February 20.

St Helens then travel to Trin on Saturday, March 1 (kick off 2.30pm) where the Wakefield Express, thanks to owner Matt Ellis, will be giving away a pair of free tickets.

Ellis said: “Last year we were winning most weeks and there wasn’t too much drama on the field. I think this year there will be a bit more working out how we cope when we do lose and how we improve the squad to make sure we’re going up the league each year.

“My business has always done better than the year before. I’d like that to be the case with the club as well - to always improve on the year before if we can, especially under Daryl’s tenure.

“The long dream would be to achieve something like a trophy. We liked winning trophies last year. We liked going to Wembley, we’d like to be doing that again.

“We want to respect the league but we do have our own ambitions and the fans have got to get behind us.”
