Big Fellas Nightclub in Pontefract first sponsored the naming rights to the stadium in 2009 and nightclub owner Tony Lumb became a director of Rovers in 2012.

Mr Lumb said: “The new structures and the opportunity of gaining Super League status is a massive boost commercially for the club. I am extremely excited for the future of Featherstone Rovers and aligning the Big Fellas brand is a privilege.

“I look forward to a continued lengthy association with the club both as a sponsor and a director.”

Featherstone’s chief executive Craig Poskitt said: “This is the fifth consecutive year that the Post Office Road will be called the Big Fellas Stadium.

“The naming rights to our famous stadium is one of the key assets in our commercial portfolio and it is important there is longevity in such partnerships.

“2014 will be an important year for the Big Fellas Stadium with the redevelopment of the Railway End taking shape due to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. Can I also put on record my thanks for Tony’s input as a director of the club.

“We have a successful business model and a board of directors who support the club, Tony is an integral part of this.”
