Wakefield Trinity’s huge Super League derby against champions Leeds Rhinos was postponed this morning (Sunday).

A number of volunteers had tried to help clear the Belle Vue pitch but, with a bumper crowd expected, the roads and access to the stadium were deemed too dangerous, so the match was called off.

Castleford Tigers’ trip to Hull KR for tonight’s televised Sup League game remains on as at 1pm today, with the game due to kick off at 6.15pm.

In the Kingstone Press Championship, Dewsbury Rams postponed their game at home to Keighley Cougars on Saturday, with three feet of snow in certain areas of the Tetley’s Stadium pitch.

Batley Bulldogs clash with Swinton Lions, originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon but put back 24 hours, also fell victim to the weather this morning.

Featherstone Rovers made an early decision to postpone their game to prevent Workington making the long trip from Cumbria.

Hunslet’s game at home to Sheffield Eagles also fell victim to the weather, as did Doncaster’s clash with York City Knights.

The only Championship game which remains on is Whitehaven’s clash at home to leaders Halifax after Cumbria avoided the arctic weather to hit West Yorkshire in recent days.
