BUY TICKETS: Tickets will go on general sale on Friday, September 17, at 10am – via edcosens.com.

It follows the release of his debut solo album, Fortunes Favour, and live appearances including a performance at Tramlines music festival.

A long-time lynchpin of the Sheffield music scene, best known as the guitarist and co-songwriter in Reverend & The Makers and an emerging songwriter in his own right, Ed waited to make his solo debut until the time felt right.

Only when his storytelling songs naturally found their own sound did he finally step from the shadows.

Backed by a full band including other notable Sheffield musicians and with Ed’s consummate and engaging performance style, this debut show will see him perform his solo material.

He assures fans he will bring the songs to life, adding in the energy and vibe of a full band. He said: “It’s been a long old road to get to the point of doing my first full headline show!It represents the longest period of time, since Ed was 14 years old, that he hasn’t regularly performed gigs.

For Ed it continues to be a celebration performing alongside friends and his fellow musicians in person and inside a venue, due the absence of live music throughout the pandemic.

He said: “Performing at Tramlines festival a couple of months ago gave me a real taste of what the full band sound would be like and now I’m so excited to take that to the next level with my own headline show.

"I’ll be performing songs from Fortunes Favour and I’ll maybe also throw in a couple of surprise favourites too!”

“To be back playing live, with other musicians, is incredibly exciting and when we all first got in a room together to play through the songs, it was no less electric and joyous.

Ed’s debut, Fortunes Favour, features 10, timeless, strings-soaked songs which he describes as invitations to eavesdrop on life’s crossroads moments and the powerful emotions they evoke.

Inspired by classic pop, the album features languid guitars, brooding atmospherics and swooning strings. Ed’s sumptuous, soul-bearing vocals bewitch. His lyrics delve deep to capture complex emotions devoid of cliche.

Recorded at Giant Wafer Studios in Wales and produced by Ed and Dave Sanderson - aided in the recording room by Milburn’s Joe Carnall and The Crookes’ Adam Crofts – Fortunes Favour is a rare debut album made mid-career.

It's a record which deals in real life, rather than dreams, on which Ed pours 20 years of songwriting experience into looking back, dwelling on the moments that mattered.

Fortunes Favour took flight after Ed abandoned attempts to decide on a sound and instead let the songs lead the way.

“It’s only taken 10 years or so for me to find the confidence!” says the self-depreciating singer, who shared stages with Arctic Monkeys members Matt Helders and Alex Turner before the Makers took off.

He said: “After several attempts, it became the song that sent me in the right direction.

“With a lot of albums, it takes just one song to kick things off and If was that moment for me. It set out the stall for who I wanted to be as an artist with its strong sense of emotion and the journey that runs through it.”
