Here’s how to get a free basket of bread at The Crow’s Rest Bakehouse...

On Monday March 16, Alexandra Vaughan of The Crow's Rest Bakehouse on Gordon Street will be giving a free basket of bread to someone who visits her pop-up stall at Wakefield Westgate.

There will be a bowl with folded pieces of paper and one of those papers will be the winning ticket - giving a lucky winner a free basket full of artisanal, organic bread.

Once the winner has finished their bread they are invited to give the basket to a friend or family member to fill it up.

They will then pass it on to their chosen friend and the basket will keep getting passed around Wakefield until the end of the year, each time entitling their holder to a basket full of bread.

The basket will be filled with one loaf, one baguette and two sweet buns from whatever the bread of choice is that week.

In this initiative, Alexandra is hoping to grow the community spirit in Wakefield, to get them talking about food, where it comes from and who makes it and to learn the stories behind each gifted basket.
