Organised by Wakefield BID, the free Merrie City Festival returned from Friday, August 28, with entertainment staged in and around Wakefield city centre.
The event officially got under way outside Wakefield Cathedral, where Jake EB Music kicked off the opening day's programme.
Wakefield BID described the festival as a celebration of music, performance, creativity and family entertainment, with activities designed to bring people into the city centre.
Saturday's programme included Xuberdance, who got the day moving before Crows of Albion took to the stage.
The festival also featured a range of other entertainment and activities, with the wider programme including live performances and events at venues around Wakefield.
It was the second Merrie City Festival after Wakefield BID launched the event in 2025.
