It marks a long overdue comeback for the Scottish pop/rock singer who has been on a hiatus for five years.

The New Shoes and Last Request star released his latest album eight years ago – Caustic Love debuted at number one in the UK in 2014, repeating the success of his 2009 album Sunny Side Up.

They followed his number three UK album debut These Streets in 2006.

Among other accolades, he has received three BRIT Award nominations and an Ivor Novello Award nomination for songwriting.

In July 2014, he was referred to by the BBC as "arguably Scotland's biggest musician right now."

Nutini is known for his live performances and numerous extended plays of some of his recordings. His first, the Live Sessions EP, was released in September 2006 and featured exclusive live versions of four fan favourite tracks mainly recorded in London.

Recorded Live at Preservation Hall was released exclusively in the United States in March 2010 and features renditions of songs originally found on Sunny Side Up; it was then re-released as a limited edition album in independent record stores in April.

His UK intimate tour launches in Sheffield at the city’s Leadmill venue – where a #WeCantLoseLeadmill campaign is underway after the current operators of the venue launched an official petition opposing eviction.

Paolo has spoken of a special relationship with the city where he has performed several times. He played to thousands of new fans there when he supported The Rolling Stones at Don Valley Stadium in 2006.

He also performed an intimate showcase of hits for around 200 fans at Sheffield’s Winter Garden in 2009.

Paolo Nutini will follow the live dates announced today by headlining TRNSMT and Victorious Festivals, playing sold-out outdoor shows in Bristol and Belfast, and performing at Liam Gallagher’s huge Knebworth Park show.

Meanwhile, European dates include a tour of Italy in July as well as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Andalucia Big Festival and Lollapalooza Berlin.TOUR DATES
