Hundreds of people visited the town on Saturday (June 13) to take part in the town’s annual WheelFest – which was organised by Pontefract Civic Society in partnership with Wakefield Council.
The free event saw the town centre transformed into a showcase for all things on wheels.
This year, the festival highlighted its wartime history and featured an expanded 1940s-themed zone on Ropergate.
Visitors were able to see military vehicles, period displays and costumed performers inspired by the 1940s.
The event also featured classic and specialist vehicles, emergency services displays, live music, an artisan craft market and family activities across the town centre.
A spokesperson for Pontefract Civic Society said: “What a day that WheelFest26 was.
"Thank you to all our sponsors partners exhibitiitiros and volunteers.
"Also to the members of the public that attended we hope you enjoyed it.”
The Civic Society has confirmed that WheelFest will return in 2027.
