Further 400 coronavirus cases confirmed in Yorkshire

A total of 7,682 people in Yorkshire have now tested positive for coronavirus, the Department of Health has confirmed.

The figure, accurate as of 12.30am today (Wednesday 22), is a rise of 400 cases since the same time on Tuesday.

Sheffield is the worst-hit local authority area with 1,746 cases, followed by Leeds with 1,010.

It comes as the Yorkshire death toll sadly rises to 1,272.

The full list of confirmed cases in Yorkshire by local authority area are as follows:

Barnsley - 488

Bradford - 618

Calderdale - 200

Doncaster - 309

East Riding - 386

Hull (Kingston upon Hull) - 303

Kirklees - 456

Leeds - 1,010

North East Lincolnshire - 104

North Lincolnshire - 218

Rotherham - 530

Sheffield - 1,746

Wakefield - 429

York - 198
