"Five months before this, at the age of 53, he did a sponsored bike ride from Leeds to Bridlington to raise money for the muscular dystrophy campaign and what better way to honour a great man than doing the same with a different destination."

Family and friends from Wakefield and Leeds will be completing the challenge with ages ranging from 42 all the way down to his seven-year-old granddaughter, who will be joining in for the last mile.

Stephen was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and touched the hearts of many throughout his life.

Terrianne said: "It means the world to us as a family that all these people, some family, some friends and some that never even met my dad, would take the time to complete this challenge in the memory of Ste and for the British Heart Foundation who will benefit from this challenge.
