9. Eddie
Eddie, a retired racing greyhound, enjoys playing with squeaky toys and is great to go out on a nice walk with. Since he has a high prey drive he wears a muzzle out and about but he's not bothered by it at all. Eddie is manageable around other dogs but prefers to be walked in quieter areas where they won't be in his face. This also means he can't share his home with any other pets. He is house trained and likes to be up on the sofa for a snooze so relaxed house rules are a must. Eddie will need a secure garden so he has somewhere to explore and enjoy occasional zoomies off lead. He will need an adult only home as he can be uncomfortable around children. Eddie is used to having owners around all the time but once set in his new routine he should be fine to be left for a few hours so may suit a part time worker. If you are up for plenty of fun, long walks and a sofa companion, then look no further than our lovely Eddie! Photo: Dog Trust
Jake is a sweet 7 year old Lurcher and due to an unsettled life previously he's been left with a few anxieties. He likes to take his time to get to know you properly but if you put in the time to come and see him regularly and give him the space he needs initially then in no time he'll be your shadow. He's super foody so if there are a few treats on offer he'll show you all his training moves. Once he's bonded with you he'll show you what a fun and playful boy he really is. He enjoys his walkies in quiet areas as sadly he's worried by other dogs and prefers to stay away from them. He's perfectly manageable though and happily wears his muzzle out and about. He's so affectionate that he'll spend the whole day snuggling on the sofa with you if give him the chance. Jake needs a patient family who will see that the time and effort initially will be well worth it once he's built a relationship. He'll need someone around all the time as sadly he cannot be left at all, and it will likely be some time before anything Photo: Dog Trust
Jasper is a two year old Labrador Cross who is full of beans. He's a super lad who has lots of potential in experienced hands. Sadly his life has been very unsettled and he has been left feeling quite insecure. The training team have worked really hard to help build his confidence and he's now ready to continue his life in a forever home. He is still a bit of a work in progress so his owners must be willing to work with us and stick to his training plan, but in the right home we know he will do really well. He's very smart and willing to learn. Although he can't share his home with other pets he's very sociable with other dogs and enjoys having walking buddies at the centre. Jasper will need patient owners who are happy to take on a bit of a training project. He wont be able to be left alone until he's fully settled in his new home. He needs to be the only pet in a two-person adult only home. He loves his exercise so needs active owners who can safely handle him out and about as he's very strong on lead. He w Photo: Dog Trust
Kengo is a gorgeous 10 year old lad who is still very active despite his age and loves being out and about on his walks. He loves being around people and is friendly with everyone he meets. Kengo is looking for a home where his owners are around most of the time. Once he has settled into his new home he should be ok on his own for short periods but he also likes having people around. He is ok with dogs out and about but would need to be the only pet in the home. Kengo hasn't been around children but sensible teenagers should be ok. As long as Kengo has a sofa to snooze on and owners who can keep up with his walking he will be a happy boy. Photo: Dog Trust
