Sandal Singers raise £2,500 for Wakefield Hospice
Sandal Singers have presented Wakefield Hospice with a generous donation of £2,500, continuing the community choir’s long-standing support for local charities.
The choir presented a cheque to Alison Wainwright, Community Fundraiser at Wakefield Hospice, during a Monday evening rehearsal, with the donation raised through the group’s fundraising efforts and concerts.
Alison said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Sandal Singers for their kind, continued support of Wakefield Hospice.
"The latest donation of £2,500 is greatly appreciated, and we would like to thank everyone who has attended their concerts, taken part in their events and helped raise such an amazing amount.
"Support like this makes a real difference to our work caring for patients and their loved ones across the local community.”
A friendly, mixed community choir, Sandal Singers welcome new members, with no auditions required and a free first taster session available.
The group meets at Sandal Methodist Church every Monday evening from 7pm to 9pm.
