Leeds United have confirmed the signing of Nottingham Forest striker Dexter Blackstock on a three month loan deal.

The deal for the 27-year-old who has played well several times against Leeds will run until January 25.

Blackstock has scored 83 career goals in 306 appearances in a career that has also seen him play for Southampton and QPR.

Leeds boss Brian McDermott said: “I’ve known Dexter for a long time, being brought up in Oxford. I’m really pleased we’ve managed to secure his services.

“He’s a really good age for a striker and I’m sure he has many good years in front of him. We are all really looking forward to working with him.”

Blackstock, who is looking for first team football after finding himself out of favour despite signing a big contract with Forest in January, is likely to go straight into the squad for Saturday’s trip to Huddersfield Town.
