Their festive fixtures will see them at home to Bradford (Park Avenue) on Boxing Day and away to Liversedge the following Saturday.

Ponte end their regular season fixtures at home to Dunston on April 17.

They are going into the new season with a settled squad and a few signings after an encouraging campaign last time out when they only narrowly failed to reach the promotion play-offs.

The club has retained 14 of the players from last season with Jack Vann, Connor O’Grady, Alfie Perry, James Morris, Paulo Aguas and Kiyani Clayton also brought in.

"We weren’t a million miles off last year so it was important we built on that going into this season, which we have,” said manager Williams.

"We have made key signings in vital areas where we needed to improve to get to the next level.

"It’s important we improved on the squad depth as well, which we definitely have this year. Going into games where you have a couple of injuries, a couple of suspensions, it’s important you can bring players in who are at the same standard.

"At this minute in time that’s what we’ve got. We’ll assess in the next (pre-season) games, if we need to bring in a couple more bodies in vital areas we will do.

"We’ll just keep building, keep training hard and we’ll see how it goes. We’re all chomping at the bit ready to get started, but it’s important we get a good pre-season in to stand us in good stead.”
