Top scorer Keelan Grist seals Frickley’s bounce back Premier victory
After their setback the previous week Frickley Athletic bounced back to winning ways with a solid display and a 2-0 home success against Pickering Town in the NCE Premier Division.
Lewis O’Connor set the Blues on the way to their victory when netting the opening goal after 13 minutes.
Pickering, who are three places above Frickley in the table, dug in and made the hosts battle all the way for the points, but it was all over four minutes from time when Keelan Grist made it 2-0.
Despite the victory Athletic stay in 17th position, but are three points above the relegation zone with a game in hand.

This week brings a tough game at home to leaders Dearne & District on Tuesday before a travel to play bottom of the table Keighley Town on Saturday.
Frickley are also in action next Tuesday with a Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup quarter-final tie at home to fellow NCE Premier side Rossington Main.
Kinsley Boys enjoyed a good week with league and cup wins.
After winning 2-1 away to Premier Division Worsbrough Bridge Athletic in a midweek second round NCE League Cup tie they followed up with a 2-0 home success against Selby Town in Division One.
Goals from Akram Lasalire and Mackai Davies had the Boys two up at half-time on their trip to South Yorkshire.
Although Joseph Booth pulled a goal back for Worsborough in the 88th minute minute it was too late to save the Premier side from defeat against this year’s league newcomers.
Kinsley moved up to 13th in Division One when they netted a goal in each half to see off a capable Selby side.
Top scorer Lucas Stubbs bagged his 11th goal of the season to give the team a 20th minute lead and Labi Adeniran sealed the points 19 minutes from time.
Kinsley now go to Route One Rovers on Saturday looking to climb into the top half of the table.
Hemsworth MW fought back from two down to be level with 19 minutes to play in their NCE Division One game at home to LIV, but cruelly fell to a 3-2 defeat with their opponents scoring late on.
Wells finished with nine men after Bismark Osei and Aston Dunstan were sent-off and could not quite hold on as Victory Ojei netted in added time.
Ryan Whincup and James Nichols had given LIV a 2-0 lead, but Ash Bell put away a penalty for the hosts midway through the second half and four minutes later they were level through Dunstan.
Hemsworth will be looking for a change of fortune when they travel to play South Leeds this Saturday.
