Wakefield’s Tingley Athletic Football Club has announced a winner after launching a Leeds United shirt competition to support the club.

The East Ardsley club ran the fundraising contest to win a framed Leeds United signed shirt worn by the Elland Road club’s star striker Patrick Bamford.

The shirt was donated to the club by a Tingley u17’s coach, Andrew Coltom.

The winner was picked through a raffle and announced during a livestream on Facebook. In total, £690 was raised, with all money going towards the club.

Tingley volunteer treasurer Zoe Walmsley said: “We're a grassroots football club and a registered charity, ran entirely by volunteers so we're entirely self sufficient.

“Throwing competitions, like this one, help us function as a club, and help keep our grounds maintained.”

She added: “The competition's generated such a good response we are looking to do another over the coming months.”
