Castleford Tigers boss vows to make changes after saying some players 'gave up' against Trinity
Castleford Tigers boss Ryan Carr accused some of his players of giving up the fight when the going got tough against Wakefield Trinity at Magic weekend.
Carr believes he knows where the team went wrong in the heavy defeat to Trinity and is confident he can fix the wrongs.
The Tigers now face a nightmare run of games where it hard to see them picking up any points as they head for Leigh then play four of the sides challenging for the title in Leeds, Wakefield again, Warrington and Hull KR. But while admitting it is still an ongoing building job the head coach does not want this year to just peter out.
He said: "We didn’t give ourselves a chance from the start, errors and penalties turned into 40 per cent ball for an 80-minute game.

"It was individuals in key moments. Everything we got wrong we spoke about very much in the week and trained for it so I’m disappointed in that.
"I know the answers and what I need to know. It’s a journey we’re on and I’m fixing that.
"I’ve identified what it is, but sometimes you’ve just got to roll with the punches and take some bumps along the road. We’re taking them now, but the road won’t look the same put it that way.
"It’s my job to make sure that we don’t continue to make the same mistakes as a club over the next 12 months.”
"It’s my job to get the best possible performance out of this team every single week. Three head injuries mean opportunities for players next week and I’ll be giving some other people opportunities on the back of that performance.”
Carr added: "I was always going to learn a lot this year about this group, about these players within the team and I'm definitely learning. Certain individuals when it got hard gave up. I know who they are, I know they won't continue. I'll address it in my own way.
"You never really know who are the fighters until you're put into it. Sometimes you've got to learn the hard way.”
