TEENAGE PROP Mikolaj Oledski is set to become the first Polish-born player to appear for Leeds Rhinos in a first team fixture.

The 17-year-old England youth international, who was born in Gdansk and is a product of the Hunslet Warriors club, has been named among the substitutes for Saturday’s pre-season opener against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at Headingley.

England youth captain Cameron Smith could also feature, along with fellow 17-year-old loose-forward Josh Jordan Roberts – signed from Oulton Raiders – and Wakefield-born centre Ryan Jones, 18.

Australian hooker Beau Falloon and prop Keith Galloway will both make their debut and Rhinos’ squad includes 10 members of the team which beat Wigan Warriors in last October’s Super League Grand Final.

England trio Zak Hardaker, Kallum Watkins and Ryan Hall have not yet begun pre-season training, Liam Sutcliffe, Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Anthony Mullally - who was hurt against New Zealand in October - are on the injured list and Brett Delaney is in Australia.

Wakefield’s side includes off-season recruits Ben Jones-Bishop, Liam Finn, Tinirau Arona and Anthony England. Back Richard Owen (broken leg) is the only Wildcats player ruled out due to injury. New signing Anthony Tupou has returned to Australia for Christmas and is due back on Sunday.
