Levellers announced as next headliner for Live at Tileyard North 2027

A popular English folk-rock band is the second headliner announced for Wakefield's Live at Tileyard North 2027.

Levellers will headline Live at Tileyard North 2027 on Saturday, August 28 – returning to Wakefield for the first time in ten years.

Formed in Brighton in 1988, the band created a formidable alternative punk-folk-rock sound, established on their platinum-selling 1990 full-length debut, A Weapon Called The Word.

The international success of their follow up release, ‘91s Levelling The Land saw Levellers rise to become one of the most popular bands in Britain throughout the ‘90s; headlining for a record-breaking 300,000-strong crowd on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage in 1994.

As part of their headline show in Wakefield, they will be joined by the high-energy, shanty punk band Skinny Lister, known for songs such as ‘Rollin Over’ and ‘Trouble on Oxford Street’, as well as Mad Dog Mcrea, a foot-stomping, folk-rock band hailing from Plymouth.

This summer saw the debut of Live at Tileyard North with incredible performances from headliners Sophie Ellis-Bextor, The Fratellis, Ocean Colour Scene and The Vaccines.

Returning next year for an even more ambitious live line up, Live at Tileyard North 2027 will see Levellers joining previously announced fellow headliners and local heroes The Cribs.

General sale for tickets opens at 10am on Friday, November 6.

The Wakefield Postcode pre-sale will allow early access to tickets for Wakefield residents and will open at 10am Wednesday, November 4.
