Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK, said: “I’m happy to announce that the new banking hub in South Elmsall is now open in the Westfield Centre, giving local residents access to cash and in-person banking services.

“The hub is available for everyday banking transactions every day of the week, and for more specific or complex enquiries, a community banker will be on-site to assist on designated days.”

From March, a representative of Halifax bank will be on-site on Mondays, and one from Lloyds Bank on Fridays from May.

The Westfield Centre is a temporary location while a permanent site is found; updates can be accessed on the Cash Access UK website. The centre is located at 26 Westfield Lane, South Elmsall, Pontefract WF9 2PU.

Banking hubs are shared banking spaces where customers can carry out regular cash transactions, with a counter service operated by the Post Office and a community banker service comprising representatives of major banks being present on-site on designated days. The representatives are normally determined by the banks with the most customers in the local area.
