The couple, who also own Pinewood Bakery, cited their children as the inspiration for the new business venture - which is located opposite the cafe on Pinewood Place .

Stefan said: “We have five children, two of which are quite young and as expected with little kids, they have quite the sweet tooth.

“We also know that there was no other local bespoke sweet shop and the best they could get was a standard bag of sweets from the supermarket.”

The Sugar Stop officially opened its doors on Saturday, October 31.

Opening day featured a raffle, free gifts and a giveaway of a one kilogram box of sweets.

Stefan continued: “The opening day was incredibly busy and well-regarded with many complimenting the variety of sweets, which we have now expanded upon due to the success.”
