Farmer Copleys confirms future of Pumpkin Festival following weekend cancellation
Farmer Copleys has confirmed that its beloved Pumpkin Festival will continue to go ahead despite its cancellation over the weekend.
The Pontefract attraction was forced to close early on Saturday (October 24) and cancel the festival on Sunday (October 25) due to Storm Boelo.
The storm is the second one to hit the district over the past few days, following Storm Austen which brought similar levels of disruption.
There was widespread flooding, travel disruption, and power cuts – with numerous planned events forced to cancel including the Pumpkin Festival.

However, the popular event is now back up and running and will remain open until Sunday, November 1.
Those with tickets for Sunday were given a refund or a voucher that could be used for any Farmer Copleys event over the next year.
Posting to social media today, the Farmer Copleys team said: “The team have been out since the crack of dawn getting the field straight and everything ready for you all again.
“We’ll be operating as normal today, including: The Sheep Show; The Fancy Dress Show (moved into the marquee for a little extra cover); Storytelling; plus all the usual Pumpkin Festival fun and photo opps.
“We’re hopefully over the worst of the weather now, so get your wellies on and come and see us!”
