Police live facial recognition van in Wakefield
The live facial recognition police van is in Wakefield city centre this week.
West Yorkshire Police said the camera van will be used in city centre crime hotspots from Wednesday October 28 until Friday 30.

A police spokesperson said: “Use of the technology is part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our communities safe and bringing offenders to justice.
“Facial recognition technology is used as an efficient and effective policing tactic to prevent and detect crime, and to protect the most vulnerable people in our society.”
The police facial recognition camera van was last used in Wakefield city centre in July.
