Wakefield reports from the courts: Man failed to stop after road accident
The following cases were heard at Leeds Magistrates’ Court.
Jacob Wall, aged 24, of Mulberry Place, Ryhill, Wakefield: Failed to stop after a road accident, drove without insurance, while disqualified, with due care and attention and while over the alcohol limit. Jailed for 12 weeks concurrent, three-year 84-day driving ban.
Robert Creighton, aged 37, of Parkgate Avenue, Wakefield: Harassment without violence and obstructed a police constable. Fined £230, 12-month restraining order and £85 costs.
Nathan Sims, aged 29, of Saville Street, Wakefield: Failed to comply with sexual offences notification requirement by failing to notify police of a new bank account within three days. Jailed for 18 weeks suspended for 18 months, fined £246 and £154 surcharge.
Michael Starkie, aged 53, of Holywell Lane, Castleford: Drove while over the alcohol limit. Twelve-month community order with six-month alcohol treatment requirement, 24-months driving ban, to be reduced by 24 weeks on completion of course, £85 costs and £114 surcharge.
David Everitt, aged 41, of Wakefield Road, Normanton: Racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress in words or writing. Fined £200, £85 costs and £80 surcharge.
Toni Hughes, aged 41, of Leatham Park Road, Featherstone: Racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress in words or writing, drove without insurance, while over the alcohol limit, and criminal damage. Twelve-month community order with 90-day alcohol abstinence requirement, 46-month driving ban, £100 fine and £85 costs.
Rachel Ancill, aged 38, of School Hill, Newmillerdam, Wakefield: Theft from a shop. Fined £576, £365 compensation, £85 costs and £230 surcharge.
John White, aged 21, of Rookhill Road, Pontefract: Theft from a shop. Fined £40, £37 compensation, £85 costs and £26 surcharge.
Reece Richardson, aged 30, of Whinney Lane, Streethouse: Assault by beating and criminal damage. Fined £692, £200 compensation,18-month restraining order, £277 surcharge and £85 costs.
Andrew Bowman, aged 48, of Queens Avenue, Pontefract: Theft from a shop. Twelve-month conditional discharge and £80 compensation.
Matthew Joyce, aged 38, of Churchfield Lane, Rothwell: Speeding. Fined £80, £130 costs, £32 surcharge and six penalty points.
Elliot Brush, aged 31, of Melbourne Road, Wakefield: Speeding. Fined £50, three penalty points, £130 costs and £40 surcharge.
