Five Yorkshire soldiers feared dead
FIVE soldiers from the 3rd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment are missing, believed killed in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence has reported.
They were on patrol on Tuesday when their vehicle was hit by an explosion.
Another solider, from the 1st Battalion The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, is also believed to have died.
The MOD said the soldiers’ families had been informed.
Full details will be released tomorrow.
The regiment was given the Freedom of the City by Wakefield Council in March 2010.
