Wakefield Beer Festival kicks off today with more than 100 drinks and live music
Wakefield Beer Festival returns today at Wakefield Exchange.
Beer lovers are in for a treat as the festival gets underway this evening, marking its return after a seven-year break.
The event will run until Sunday, October 25, with four sessions across the weekend and more than 100 beers, ciders and craft drinks for visitors to sample.
The festival aims to shine a spotlight on independent breweries and the region’s thriving brewing scene, bringing together established names and local producers for a celebration of beer and community spirit.

Alongside the drinks on offer, visitors can tuck into street food, enjoy live music and take in the festival atmosphere.
It will take place across four sessions, starting with Friday evening from 6pm to 10pm.
On Saturday, visitors can attend an afternoon session from noon until 5pm, followed by an evening session from 6pm to 10pm.
The final session takes place on Sunday from noon until 5pm.
Live entertainment will feature throughout the weekend, with a different act taking to the stage at each session. Friday evening gets things started with The Kase Chiefs, an energetic Oompah band.
On Saturday afternoon, the Chris Berry Band will perform rock covers, before Celtic rock outfit Galeforce takes over for the evening session.
The weekend will draw to a close on Sunday afternoon with The Replays, playing rock and pop favourites from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
A wide selection of breweries will be represented, giving visitors the chance to discover different styles and sample drinks from across the UK.
Names featured on the festival line-up include Adnams Brewery, Beartown Brewery, Bowland Brewery, Bowness Bay Brewing, Fyne Ales Farm Brewery, Jolly Boys Brewery, Kirkstall Brewery, Moorhouse’s Brewery, Ossett Brewery, Roosters Brewery Company, Signature Brew, Timothy Taylor’s, Titanic Brewery, Vocation Brewery and Westgate Brewery.
