Yorkshire warned about overnight snowfalls

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of snow and ice for North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, the East Riding, South Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire overnight, when up to 10cms of snow could fall over higher ground.
There remains some uncertainty over where the heaviest snowfalls will occur but motorists are being advised to expect delays on the Wednesday morning rush hour, particularly when using untreated roads.

Most areas can expect between one and four centimetres of snow but localised showers could be prolonged. Clear spells between showers will also lead to icy stretches forming on untreated surfaces.
Cold northerly or easterly winds will continue to keep daytime temperatures below five degrees until the weekend, with overnight lows of -1 Celsius.
