Matthew Taylor’s six of the best has Wakefield Thornes up with early leaders
Victory over Treeton has put Wakefield Thornes among the early frontrunners in the Yorkshire Southern Premier.
They had to overcome a batting blip, but got home by 39 runs.
After skipper James Wolfenden (34) and Byron Boshoff (36) put on 70 for the first wicket, the innings faltered to 119-5. But Faisal Irfan (31) and Greg Wadsworth (62 in 49 balls) then added exactly 100 for the sixth wicket and wicket-keeper Tom Froggett weighed in with 24 off 16 balls to see his side to an impressive score of 262-8.
Treeton were all out for 223 with Matthew Taylor taking 6-35.
