Methley edged out by leaders but Townville keep up pressure
Jack Hughes and Tom Chippendale’s all-round efforts helped Townville to keep the pressure on the Premier Division leaders with a well earned three-wicket victory over Bradford & Bingley in the Bradford Cricket League.
Hughes took 3-55 and Chippendale claimed 4-36, but Ben Moffat's 66 helped the visitors reach 231 to set a challenging target.
Townville responded confidently, however, as Hughes made a fluent 51 from 55 balls, including eight fours, and Chris Grey contributed 40 to take them to 134-2.
Bradford & Bingley hit back, but Liam Collins hit 22 and Chippendale's 22no ultimately guided the home side past their target in a thrilling finish with two balls remaining.

Townville remain nine points behind leaders Woodlands who also held their nerve to edge out Methley by two runs.
Their narrow victory, combined with the wins for Townville and New Farnley means just leaves just 16 points separate the top three as the championship race continues to gather momentum.
Woodlands survived a tremendous spell from Methley spinner Taylor Cornall, who claimed 6-28, to post 184 before dismissing the visitors for 182.
Brad Schmulian (4-60), Kez Ahmed (3-50) and Muhammad Bilal (2-31) combined to halt Methley's chase despite 44 from Cornall and 42 from James Wainman.
With Kyle Welsh also hitting 29 they looked on target for success when reaching 151-6, but the table toppers kept chipping away before the final wicket fell in the 38th over.
Lowly Spen Victoria are making a habit of upsetting the promotion contenders in Division Two and defeated top of the table Great Preston by 41 runs.
They posted a strong 250-6 total, built around the efforts of Alex Midgley (58) and Corey Roebuck (45), before James Randal's unbeaten 31 provided a strong finish.
James Conlon and Alfie McMillan took two wickets each for Preston, who made an aggressive start to their reply through Sohail Ahmed (41) and Sam Wright (29) in a better than a run-a-ball 69-run opening stand.
Although captain Jack McGahan made an unbeaten 44 from 48 balls, Kabir Bashir's 5-70 checked their momentum and Andrew Robertson claimed 3-86 as the leaders were all out for 209.
Despite the loss Great Preston remain on top, but they have had their advantage cut to 23 points by second-placed Keighley.
Streethouse suffered a seven-wicket defeat to Hartshead Moor in their Division Two game despite posting a big 259-7 total.
Zamurad Khan (82) led the batting effort, hitting four sixes and eight fours, while Lee Tarbuck contributed 55 and Ben Brown 51 from 49 balls.
But Hartshead chased down the runs to win with more than six overs to spare as overseas player Muhammad Waleed led the way with an unbeaten 114.
