Free arts trail in Castleford town centre

Friends of Castleford Library members Sean Lyons and Helen Wilby will host the 'Beyond Moore: A Town Centre Arts Trail' on Saturday September 12.

Sean said: "There's an awful lot of public art in Castleford that some people aren't aware of."

Sean said the one-and-a-half hour long tour of just over a mile will include street murals, "towering monoliths" and subway posters.

Helen said: "When you walk around you realise there's an awful lot of layers of contemporary art."

The tour will start outside Castleford Library on Carlton Street at 11am on Saturday, September 12.

There will also be a chance to explore the collection at Castleford Library.

Heritage Open Days will run across Wakefield district from September 11-20
