Former Kinsley betting office could become shop again under new plans
A former betting office in Kinsley could become a shop again under plans submitted to Wakefield Council.
The proposal covers the ground floor of 25 Wakefield Road, with applicants seeking permission to change its use from a betting office to a shop.
A single-storey extension would also be built at the rear, providing additional space including storage and toilet facilities.
The plans also include moving the internal staircase serving the flat above and reconfiguring the existing two-bedroom flat.

Applicants say the proposal would therefore effectively reinstate the property's former shop use while retaining the residential accommodation above.
The proposed shop would have 131 square metres of trading space.
Existing access arrangements would be retained, with no new access proposed.
Opening hours have been given as 6am to 11pm Monday to Saturday, and 7am to 10pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
The statement also says the first-floor flat would remain in residential use, with the internal changes intended to improve its layout.
