The event was organised by Tracy Kemp, Activity Team Lead at Bennett Court, with entertainment taking place throughout the day.

Local acts Amanda – Singalong Days, Emily Capp, Alan Turner, The Latoyas and We Are Little Rock performed for the crowds, while Tilly Mae entertained guests with a dance performance.

Festival-goers could also have their hair and make-up done, browse the Bennett Fest merchandise stand and enter a raffle, with prizes including a £100 Ticketmaster voucher.

Cakes, sweets and ice cream were also available, alongside mocktails from food trucks and stalls.

People living at Bennett Court, which is part of Exemplar Health Care, were at the centre of the celebrations, joining in with the music and dancing and helping to run stalls.

Resident Joel said the event had also provided an opportunity to catch up with friends from other Exemplar Health Care homes.

“It was so much fun having our own music festival. Other Exemplar Health Care homes came to join in, which gave me the chance to catch up with friends too. We can’t wait for next year already.”

All proceeds from the event went to New Beginnings, a charity which supports the rehoming and retraining of former racehorses.

Tracy said she was proud of everyone who helped organise the festival and praised the response from the community.

“We had such an enthusiastic response from the local community, and we’re already looking forward to bringing everyone together again for next year’s Bennett Fest.”
