Craigo Day fundraiser for MND at Darrington Golf Club
AN annual fundraising golf day in memory of a much-loved Darrington Golf Club member is set to take place this weekend.
The tenth Craigo Day in memory of Craig Roughley will be held at the club on Saturday August 29 to raise funds for the MND Association.
Craig, of Hemsworth, was diagnosed with MND in early 2017.
The father-of-four and grandfather-of-seven married his long-term partner Teresa at Darrington Golf Club on August 5 2017.

He lost his fight against MND aged 45 on August 30 that year.
Craig's friends at Darrington wanted to create a lasting tribute and organised the first Craigo Day in 2017 to raise money for the MND Association.
The annual event has so far raised well over £10,000 for the MND Association.
The day includes a golf tournament with members sponsoring holes to raise more cash.
There is also a raffle - with prizes donated by members and local businesses - followed by a barbecue.
Craigo Day is organised by club members Neil Bangham and Dave Mcardle along with Emma Johnston - food, beverage and events manager at Darrington.
Neil said: "Craig was a great bloke. We called him the family guy as he was devoted to his kids and grandkids.
"He would do anything for everyone, had a heart of gold and is so badly missed.
"That is why the Craigo Golf day was founded at Darrington and it’s now one of the most popular and supported golf days at the club."
An MND Association spokesperson said: "Darrington Golf Club have been a wonderful supporter of our West Yorkshire Branch of the MND Association since member Craig was diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
"This August they are hosting their tenth annual golf day, which is sadly now in memory of Craig who died in 2017.
"It is always a great event which brings a lot of Craig’s friends and fellow golfers together.
"We thank Darrington Golf Club for their continued support. The funds raised have helped us provide equipment and run support groups for people living with MND. We make every day matter for those with MND in the West Yorkshire area."
Any local businesses wanting to donate raffle prizes for next year's Craigo Day are asked to email Emma Johnston: [email protected]
