Normanton's Farrah Cunniff teams up with former world champion in switch to pro ranks
Normanton’s outstanding yousng boxer Farrah Cunniff is heading into the professional ranks after signing up with a former world champion from West Yorkshire.
After four-and-a-half years of boxing in the amateur ranks Farrah has decided to give the professional game a go and has joined Josh Warrington’s gym in Leeds which he runs alongside his dad and manager/trainer Sean O'Hagan and Charlie Hughes.
With this wealth of experience in the camp it is hoped it will help the Normanton boxer to achieve her ambitions in the sport and excel in the paid ranks.
Farrah has left the amateurs with an outstanding record of multiple box cup golds, two National Championships and she topped 2026 off by winning the ultimate Elite National Championship and then the prestigious Harringay Box Cup for a third time.

Despite 17 gold medals, with only two losses in major box cups in more than four years in the sport, the White Rose Boxing Club-trainer fighter was disappointed not to become an international boxing regular even though she had beaten number one ranked boxers in England, Ireland and Scotland and her record exceeded other chosen England boxers.
“Faz would have liked to have continued her amateur career with the England route, but she got a bit of a kick in the teeth as England chose a girl who Faz unanimously beat in the final of the Elites,” explained her father and coach at White Rose Chris Cunniff.
"Farrah said goodbye to her beloved White Rose gym in Wakefield with a final picture of her medal haul with all the other boxers and coaches.
"She would like to especially thank Sherri Walker for her endless efforts to ensure Faz got the most out of boxing. These two met at the crossroads at the right time, which has been life changing.”Wakefield,
