Pontefract keep hat-trick bid on track with win at Hall

Pontefract 1 have made the perfect start in their bid for a hat-trick of Yorkshire Premier Squash League titles, prevailing 19-6 at winless Ferriby Hall to make it four wins from four.

Adam Taylor met highly spirited resistance from recently-crowned European women's racketball champion Fiona Moverley before closing out victory 11/5 in the fifth. Neil Cordell found things a little easier against Ferriby's number four Yusef Foster.

Scot Rory Richmond, just returned from the European U23 Cup where he finished fourth, beat Ed Bidder in three to seal the victory for Ponte. Aussie David Turner added gloss with a four-game win over Ben Sockett.

In the top-string tussle, Ferriby got a win on the board as Ben Smith defeated former Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Rory Stewart in five.
