The popular vehicle festival will return to Pontefract this weekend.

WheelFest will take place this Saturday, June 13, from 10am to 4pm in Pontefract town centre.

This year, the festival will put focus on wartime history alongside its wider celebration of vehicles, community and local heritage.

The area will recreate aspects of life during the wartime era, featuring military vehicles, period displays and costumed performers aimed at giving visitors a vivid sense of the 1940s setting.

Organised by Pontefract Civic Society in partnership with Wakefield Council, the free event will transform the town centre into a showcase for all things on wheels, with an emphasis on an expanded 1940s-themed zone on Ropergate.

WheelFest will also feature classic and specialist vehicles and emergency services displays.

Furthermore, there will be live music, an artisan craft market, children’s rides and family activities across the town centre throughout the day.
