Aspire at Pontefract Park closed this weekend

The Aspire leisure centre and swimming pool at Pontefract Park will be closed this weekend.

Wakefield Council said the leisure centre will be closed on Saturday and Sunday October 24 and 25.

A Council spokesperson said: “Because of roof works and the forecast of poor weather, the building will be closed as a precaution.

“The safety of our customers, staff and contractors is our top priority. And we feel closing the building is the safest option.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.

“We’ll keep monitoring the situation and share updates if anything changes.

Aspire at Pontefract Park was closed on Thursday October 8 after a water leak affected electrics and was not fully re-opened until Monday October 12.
