Sophie Ellis-Bextor, The Fratellis and The Vaccines heading to new Wakefield concert series

A new outdoor concert series is set to bring four nights of live music to Wakefield with Sophie Ellis-Bextor, The Fratellis, Ocean Colour Scene and The Vaccines among the headline acts.

Live at Tileyard North will take place from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30, with the courtyard at Tileyard North being transformed for the inaugural event.

Toby Womack, promoter at Futuresound Events, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be opening the doors to Live at Tileyard North next week and seeing the venue come to life.

"With an amazing line-up of artists and shows ahead, it’s going to be fantastic to welcome audiences and experience the space in action.

"Our investment in Wakefield is a long-term commitment to the city, and we’re really looking forward to seeing what the future holds.”

Sophie Ellis-Bextor will open the series on Thursday, with Scouting For Girls, Deco and Lois also performing.

The Fratellis will headline on Friday, joined by The Twang, The Subways and The Cheap Thrills.

Saturday will see Ocean Colour Scene take to the stage, with The Lilacs, M60 and Keyside supporting.

The weekend will close on Sunday with The Vaccines performing their critically acclaimed debut album, What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?, in full.

They will be joined by Spector, Ellur and Little Grandad.

Gates are scheduled to open at 5.30pm on Thursday and Friday, and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, according to the information supplied by organisers.

There is a 10.30pm curfew, with headliners scheduled for 9pm.

The main entrance, premium and access lanes and box office will be located on Navigation Walk.

Organisers are encouraging people to use public transport, with Westfield Kirkgate the nearest railway station, around a 10-minute walk away.

Event parking will be available at The Waterfront Car Park, a short walk from the site.
